(Apri 17) Retailer education is the goal for Indianapolis Fruit Co. Inc.’s planned seminar, “Winning at Retail: Developing Organics as a Strategic Point of Difference,” which is scheduled to take place April 24-25 at the University Place Conference Center in Indianapolis.

Increased requests for information about category management from retail customers prompted Indianapolis Fruit to put on the seminar, said Shane Towne, marketing and new business development coordinator.

Four speakers are scheduled for the seminar:

  • Mark Mulcahy, founder of Organic Options, Glen Ellen, Calif.

  • Harold Lloyd, president of Harold Lloyd Presents, Virginia Beach, Va.

  • Cissy Bowman, chief executive officer of Indiana Certified Organic LLC, Clayton, Ind.

  • Jeff Bartovics, produce pool coordinator of Organic Valley Farms, Lafarge, Wis.

A vendor exhibition for organic and natural foods also is planned.
