John Boskovich, Boskovich co-founder, dies

Boskovich retired from Oxnard, Calif.-based Boskovich Farms in 2000, said Lindsay Martinez, the company’s marketing director.

After serving in the U.S. Navy in World War II, Boskovich returned to his home in the San Fernando Valley and started Boskovich Bros. Farms in 1946 with his brothers Phil and George.

Boskovich also became known for his “Bosko’s Barbeque,” a tailgate party at University of Southern California home football games. Proceeds from the parties were donated to the university’s marching band.

Boskovich is survived by his brother Phil, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
