(July 28) SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — To help meet the rising demand for marketing to ethnic communities, Vanguard Marketing Strategies LLC has launched a division, Vanguard Ethnic Marketing.

The division, which will operate in its own office in Nogales, will focus largely on the Hispanic market but also will target Asian and other minority markets.

Veronica Kraushaar, president of Vanguard Marketing Strategies, will head up the new division.

“We had been seeing increasing interest in targeting these groups,” she said. “By formalizing the division, we are able to show our focus and our commitment to those areas.”

Kraushaar said Spanish-speaking employees will staff the Nogales office. Kraushaar is Brazilian and speaks English, Spanish and Portuguese.

“Hispanics are the largest ethnic group, so we see that as being the premiere focus for our produce clients,” she said. “Asians are the second-largest produce-eating group, and African Americans are the third. So we see the emphasis going in that direction.”
