Princeton, Fla.-based New Limeco LLC was working on securing its certification for its avocado groves this summer, said Eddie Caram, general manager.

The firm’s packinghouse received its Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points certification and Primus certification last season, and Caram said he expected the groves to be Primus certified by the end of July.

The company, which ships green-skinned avocados under the Lo-Cal label, started shipping the first week in July and may have product until late March, thanks to some new, late varieties, Caram said.
