The Mushroom Council’s website has a new look and structure to make it easier to find the latest information about mushrooms. Consumers, media, retailers and chefs can quickly access mushroom nutrition information, recipes and the latest on council activities.

Retailers can tell their customers to visit the site, at, and encourage them to sign up for updates from the Mushroom Channel to receive the latest information on the industry, trends and research via the council’s retail or foodservice newsletters.

The council has been promoting mushrooms to college and university foodservice through recipe contests for students and dining hall staff.

In March, students in 13 Harvard University dining halls in Boston concocted mushroom pizza recipes and served the winners to more than 6,000 fellow students.

One winning pizza called for two pounds of cremini, oyster and shiitake mushrooms, caramelized onions and fontina cheese.
