The All Things Organic conference and trade show will happen in tandem with two other events for its ninth annual event this year.
The Greenfield, Mass.-based Organic Trade Association, which sponsors the event, partnered the show with Expo Comida Latina and All Asia Food June 16-18 at Chicagoâs McCormick Place.
âThereâs a lot of excitement and anticipation, a lot of energy going into this show,â said Barbara Haumann, spokeswoman for the association.
An addition to the show is the New Product Competition. A jury of retail and foodservice buyers, chefs and industry experts are judging the best organic products developed over the last year for retail, foodservice and manufacturing markets.
Because attendees canât visit every session, defined tracks group sessions that appeal to different industries. This year, an organic produce track will cover strategies for growing organic sales, employee and customer education, merchandising techniques and trends in traceability technologies. The association scheduled produce tours and demonstrations, Haumann said.
An organic retail track covers retail certification, employee and consumer education, organic messaging and marketing and consumer trends and market outlook. There will also be retail tours.
Keynote speakers and presentations include:
- Richard Seireeni, author of âThe Gort Cloud,â which discusses using the green movement as a marketing strategy;
- Phil Lempert, also known as the Supermarket Guru, who talks about products that claim to be healthful and how to educate employees about wellness and fitness consumer trends;
- Nielsen Business Media, whose representatives are scheduled to discuss health and wellness trends and ways retailers can build strategies; and
- The Organic Trade Association and Kiwi magazine plan to present research results from a study of 1,200 U.S. families.
