David Rodgers has joined IFCO as vice president of sales for the West.

He previously was vice president and general manager of Fresno, Calif.-based Orbis Container Services Inc.

“Joining IFCO has been a seamless transition for me,” Rodgers said in a statement. “The company’s commitment to the produce industry is very impressive, and I am pleased to be a part of their successful management team. I look forward to the continued growth of the RPC business.”

Rodgers has been involved in the reusable pallet and container industry since 2002 and is a past president of the Reusable Plastic Container Coalition (now the Reusable Packaging Association).

His responsibilities at IFCO include managing retailers in the western United States and Canada as well as development of the Mexican market.

IFCO added another former Orbis executive earlier this year.

David Wilson, who has nearly 20 years of experience in the packaging industry, joined IFCO as grower account manager earlier this year. He is responsible for much of IFCO’s RPC business in Southern California and Mexico. He previously was manager of retailers for Orbis Container Services.

Stephanie Widmann joined IFCO in July as a retail saleswoman. A 2007 graduate of Clemson University, Widmann previously served as a sales manager for Walter P. Rawl & Sons Inc. in Pelion, S.C. She will be responsible for helping to develop IFCO’s business in the eastern U.S.

Meanwhile, marketing manager Hillary Femal said production of the company’s 6408 model reusable plastic container more than doubled in April to keep up with demand.

“The success of this model, ideal for tomatoes and berries in particular, is due to its ability to offer superior product protection and pack-out efficiencies for delicate produce,” she said.
