A Maryland produce shipper has recalled spinach over fears of listeria contamination.

Jessup-based Lancaster Foods LLC voluntarily recalled Krisp-Pak Ready to Eat Hydro-Cooled Fresh Spinach packs after North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services tests found the bacteria, according to a department news release.

The 10-ounce packages have a “Best Enjoyed By: 23 June 10” label and were sold in North Carolina, Maryland and Virginia.

The contaminated product was found at a Farm Fresh retail store in Elizabeth City, N.C. No illnesses have been reported.
