(July 27) Calling it the first distribution center built in the McDonald's restaurant supply chain system in 10 years, quick service restaurant supplier Golden State Foods has announced opening a 270,000-square-foot facility in City of Industry, Calif.

The Irvine, Calif.-based distributor of produce, meat and other items said this newest distribution center on Baker Parkway in the city's Grand Crossing development serves about 900 restaurants.

Golden State said the facility would ship 40 million cases of various products annually to multiple customers.
