Dwight Ferguson, the former president and chief executive officer of Eurofresh Inc., will take on the same job titles at berry shipper Naturipe Farms LLC.

Ferguson, who stopped working at Willcox, Ariz.-based Eurofresh in November, will become Naples, Fla.-based Naturipe’s president and chief executive officer Jan. 4.

“I think it’s a great company and a great opportunity for me personally,” Ferguson said. “Naturipe has achieved great growth, and the projections suggest that growth will continue.”

Rich Amirsehhi, Naturipe’s chairman of the board, has been filling in as interim chief executive officer. Bruce Peterson, the company’s former chief executive officer and president, resigned in January.

Ferguson said his goals include having Naturipe outpace berry category growth and building on the work Amirsehhi has done as interim chief executive officer.

“Rich has done an excellent job of clarifying (Naturipe’s) strategic direction,” he said.

Eurofresh reorganized its executive staff upon emerging from Chapter 11 bankruptcy in November. Eurofresh founder and board chairman Johan van den Berg took over as the company’s chief executive officer effective Nov. 24.
