(Oct. 9) This month, children’s television network Nickelodeon and the Produce for Kids organization created by Reidsville, Ga.-based Shuman Produce Inc., will partner to promote a healthy lifestyle program called “Let’s Just Play.”

On Oct. 2, Nickelodeon announced that the campaign would run through Nov. 5 and would feature point-of-sale promotional materials in retail produce departments around the country.

The network’s Dora the Explorer character will appear on brochures, floor stands and recipe books, urging kids to “Eat Smarter” and “Play Harder.”

Participating retailers include Meijer Inc., Grand Rapids, Mich.; Publix Super Markets Inc., Lakeland, Fla.; and Schenectady, N.Y.-based Golub Corp., the parent of more than 100 Price Chopper stores in the Northeast.

At least a dozen produce firms and trade groups will help sponsor the campaign.
