(Aug. 20, 2:50 p.m.) The National Onion Association, Greeley, Colo., has partnered with CHEP, Orlando, Fla., to bolster funds for retail, consumer and foodservice promotional and educational activities, as well as promote the benefits of pallet pooling to its members.

“Our partnership with CHEP will benefit both of our organizations. CHEP is providing onion producers added support for their marketing efforts including nutrition and health education, professional culinary development, and publicity communications about onions,” association director of public and industry relations Kim Reddin said in a news release.

The pallet pooling system provides growers with durable shipping platforms to increase productivity and lower product damage, as well as providing an environmentally friendly pallet option.
