(Nov. 13) VANCOUVER, British Columbia — New sales appointments to The Oppenheimer Group should help complement the fresh produce supplier’s sales and marketing group and strengthen its customer relationships, company officials say.

Industry veteran Tim Cunniff, who has 14 years of food industry sales, marketing and management experience, returns to produce industry sales by being named sales representative Nov. 8 for Oppenheimer’s Wilmington, Del., sales office.

Ramon “Ray” Reed, who has worked 18 years in produce sales, marketing and quality control, will work in Oppenheimer’s Los Angeles office.

Paul Skorpinski will become Oppenheimer’s sales development representative for the company’s Great Lakes region, a recently created position.

Cunniff worked for Dole Food Co. Inc., Westlake Village, Calif.; Del Monte Fresh Produce Inc., Coral Gables, Fla.; Produce for Better Health Foundation, Newark, Del.; and most recently the Pepsi Bottling Group Inc., Somers, N.Y. He said he wanted to return to fresh produce sales.

“I had missed working in the produce industry and welcomed the opportunity to come back in a role that feels right and is also very suitable from a geographic standpoint,” he said. “I hope to bring what I have learned throughout my career into this job and contribute as much as I can.”

Reed worked for Jac. Vandenberg Inc., Yonkers, N.Y., and Produce Services of America Inc., in Gloucester City, N.J., and San Diego. Reed also was a partner in a Woodlake, Calif., family-owned plum and olive ranch.

Skorpinski worked six years in produce buying and category management for Dominick’s Finer Foods Inc., Northlake, Ill.
