(Aug. 24) Susie Cable, staff writer for The Packer, recently moved from the paper’s Lenexa, Kan., office to Waterford, Conn.

Cable said the move should improve The Packer’s presence in the Northeast.

Lance Jungmeyer, editor, agreed.

“Historically, The Packer has been very well-represented on both the West Coast and in Florida, but we noticed that we had a gap in our coverage in the Northeast,” Jungmeyer said.

“Susie will be attending many regional events in New England and the Northeast, and readers will come to recognize her face through her interactions there.”

Cable is the first writer to reside in the Northeast since Larry Waterfield, former Washington, D.C., editor, retired in 2001.

Cable began working for The Packer as an intern in January and became a staff writer at the end of March. In October 2005, she earned a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Kansas in Lawrence.

Cable can be reached at (860) 437-3987 and at scable@thepacker.com.
