(April 1, 6:45 p.m.) Members of the produce industry will be front and center at another Congressional food safety hearing April 2.

The House Agriculture Committee will call on several industry leaders at a 10 a.m. (EST) hearing on the topic of federal food safety systems, the committee reported April 1.

The panel of witnesses includes John Hanlin, vice president for food safety for Supervalu Inc., Eden Prairie, Minn., along with Mike Erlandson, vice president of government affairs for Supervalu.

Also scheduled to present testimony to the committee are David Dever, chief executive officer and president of Pandol Brothers Inc., Delano, Calif., and Tony DiMare, vice president of DiMare Homestead Inc., Homestead, Fla., and DiMare Ruskin Inc., Ruskin, Fla.
