Dan Juba, 49, died April 4 after a 17-month battle with cancer. He had worked in the produce packaging industry more than 30 years and was employed in sales and marketing for Horizon Packaging Inc., Winter Park, Fla., at the time of his death.

Memorial services were April 8 in Bay Village, Ohio.

Juba worked for the General Bag Corp. in Cleveland earlier in his career, learning about the agricultural packaging industry there, according to a statement from Horizon Packaging.

“His customers appreciated his immense knowledge of the industry and his inventive advice,” the Horizon statement said. “Dan was known for his storytelling that could continue well past the obligatory few minutes and his tremendous sense of humor.”

Juba lived in Westlake, Ohio, and is survived by his wife Freda, son Cory and daughter Emily. Memorial donations may be made to: Daniel R. Juba Family, P.O. Box 400, Bay Village, Ohio, 44280.
