(Feb. 2) Melinda Goodman has spent much of her produce-marketing career pushing finished product.

Now, Goodman is developing marketing programs for fruits and vegetables at all stages of the supply line.

Goodman, 32, left Ephrata, Pa.-based Four Seasons Trading Co. last summer when that company shut down its McAllen, Texas-based office, and she moved on to a business-development slot at the Market Source division of Milwaukee-based tomato wholesaler and repacker Maglio & Co.

She is now marketing director at Minnetrista, Minn.-based Golden Sun Marketing, a 1½-year-old public relations firm.

In Goodman’s new position, which she started Jan. 23, she works with several clients along the produce supply chain, she said.

“My strongest experience is in the area of marketing and public relations, and I think this allows me to get even more involved in produce because we represent clients from seed companies to retailers,” she said. “So I can have my fingers in every stage of the supply chain.”

“I’m really excited about Melinda joining,” said Don Goodwin, president of the company. “She’s extremely talented, with her marketing background and her sales experience.”
