(Nov. 5, 11:43 a.m.) Stemilt Growers Inc., Wenatchee, Wash., plans to showcase its Piñata apples at the 11th annual Worlds of Flavor International Conference & Festival Nov. 6-8 in Napa Valley, Calif.

Wilson will have prepared three dishes with the Piñata apples for attendees to taste.

“We were looking for someone that wanted to partner on a fantastic piece of fruit,” said Roger Pepperl, marketing director of Stemilt. “His whole philosophy is around flavors.”

Stemilt is hoping to “highlight how unique and wonderful” the apple is, he said.

The conference, themed A Mediterranean Flavor Odyssey, is sponsored by The Culinary Institute of America.

According to the institute’s Web site the conference attracts leading chefs, corporate menu decision makers, foodservice executives, suppliers and other professionals.
