(March 6) DIC Entertainment, with its popular Strawberry Shortcake character, has partnered with the Florida Strawberry Growers Association, Plant City, to promote the sale of fresh strawberries at 893 Publix Supermarkets.

According to a news release, events for children 2 to 7 and their parents are scheduled March 4-10 at stores throughout the Southeast U.S. and will feature the Strawberry Shortcake character as a spokesperson.

The health message of strawberries will be conveyed in-store with posters that read, "Packed with Sweetness: strawberries . . . a berry healthy snack."

Print ads and a retail display contest will support the campaign, the release noted.
