Sunkist Growers Inc., Sherman Oaks, Calif., has joined the growing list of food industry firms and organizations donating to relief efforts in the wake of the devastating earthquake that hit Haiti Jan. 12.

Sunkist donated $25,000 each to Partners in Health and to the Haiti Relief Fund launched by Doctors Without Borders, according to a news release.

“Our hearts go out to the people of Haiti who have endured such devastating losses,” Russ Hanlin, president and chief executive officer of Sunkist, said in the release. “Their suffering is unimaginable and we at Sunkist wanted to do what we can to help.”

Partners in Health works to bring medical care to poor communities. Doctors Without Borders has sent teams of physicians and other medical personnel to help treat those injured in the quake.
