(Feb. 21) Candy hearts and cupids weren’t enough. OSO Sweet Onions plans to continue its “Share the Love” campaign through St. Patrick’s Day.

The campaign, a cross-promotion with the Ronald McDonald House that began on Jan. 14, was scheduled to conclude with the fourth in a series of OSO Sweet Onion dessert cook-offs on Feb. 15 at the Ronald McDonald House in Los Angeles.

Instead, Rodger Helwig, San Francisco-based marketing director for OSO Sweet Onions, said he expects to continue the campaign through mid-March.

Helwig said chefs at New York-based Junior’s Cheesecake, which created an OSO Sweet Onion and apple cheesecake for the first leg of the promotions, are expected to come up with a new flavor of sweet onion cheesecake for St. Patrick’s Day promotions.

The OSO Sweet Onion and apple cheesecake was featured on “Fox and Friends” on the Fox cable news network on Feb. 5, and can be purchased at Junior’s Brooklyn and New York City locations. Proceeds from the cheesecake sales will benefit the Ronald McDonald House charities.
