The United Fresh Foundation Center for Leadership Excellence named its 10th annual Frieda Rapoport Caplan Family Business Scholarship recipients for 2010.

Kiley Harper-Larsen of Hugh Branch Inc., Pahokee, Fla.; Chelsea McClarty of HMC Farms, Kingsburg, Calif.; Ben Rice of Rice Fruit Co., Gardners, Pa.; and Mark Stevenson of Meijer Inc., Grand Rapids, Mich., received the scholarships.

“We’d like to extend our congratulations to the four scholarship recipients and thank everyone who applied for this year’s program,” said advisory committee member Steve Ottum, Potandon Produce, in a news release.

Recipients get airfare, lodging and registration for the United Fresh Washington Public Policy Conference Sept. 14-16. Funding comes from a Frieda’s Inc. grant to the United Fresh Foundation.

The scholarship is named after the founder and chairman of the board and was started by daughters Karen Caplan and Jackie Caplan Wiggins in 2001 to help family-owned businesses have their voices heard.
