Vance Publishing Corp.’s produce division, including The Packer and Produce Merchandising, has entered into a partnership with The AgPlus Network LLC, and its related entities, Associated Produce Services and FreshLink.

AgPlus provides the industry with timely access to U.S. Department of Agriculture commodity pricing data — see, and carries news, data and other market information from Vance Publishing’s produce division at Vance Publishing will provide sales and marketing support to AgPlus.

In addition to The Packer, Vance Publishing’s produce division also includes:

  • Red Book Credit Services and The Produce Industry Credit Council;
  • The Grower and Citrus & Vegetable;
  • The Guide, a supplier sourcing reference database and merchandising information for fresh produce markets.
  • The Greenbook Group, a source for crop protection data for fresh produce growers and consulting partners.

Don Ransdell, vice president and publishing director for the Vance Publishing’s produce division, said the partnership allows users of the company’s digital properties greater access to USDA pricing data and reports provided by AgPlus.

“AgPlus is a first-class organization that provides timely, actionable data to the fresh produce demand chain,” Ransdell said.

Harold Myers, a 35-year veteran in various areas of the fresh produce industry, founded the Visalia, Calif.-based AgPlus Network in 1997.
