The Environmental Protection Agency has registered several additional crops on which Movento insecticide from Bayer CropScience can be used.
They include pistachios, legume vegetables, tropical fruit, dried prunes and okra, according to a news release.
The product already was registered for use on grapes, citrus, lettuce and apples.
Movento, which contains the active ingredient spirotetramat, has two-way systemic action.
When applied to leaves, it moves both up into the top of the plant and also down into the roots.
It targets sucking pests, such as aphids, whiteflies, mealybugs and psyllids.
In addition, several countries have established MRLs, or maximum residue levels, for Movento. To find an MRL, visit FASonline's MRL database.
