The Environmental Protection Agency has registered Closer SC insecticide from Indianapolis-based Dow AgroSciences.

State registrations are pending, with California approval expected in 2015, according to a news release.

Closer contains the active ingredient sulfoxaflor, which belongs to the Insecticide Resistance Action Committee's Group 4C.

The product targets sap-feeding pests, such as Asian citrus psyllids, mealybugs, scales and aphids with both knockdown and residual activity.

It is labeled for most tree fruit, citrus, vegetables and tree nuts.

The SC formulation involves a suspension concentrate, which provides for easy use and mixing, according to the release.
