The latest numbers are in, and it looks like California's almond growers have a crop larger than expected.

The National Agricultural Statistics Service's recent objective estimate of the 2011 crop is 1.95 billion pounds, up from the subjective estimate of 1.75 billion pounds released in May.

The May estimate is based on a phone survey of growers; the July estimate is based on counting nuts on trees in representative orchards.
