We probably all know of an unsung hero in the potato industry—that grower or other industry leader who devotes countless hours to help the industry but does so in a quiet, humble way.
Or that producer or leader who has spent a lifetime bettering the potato industry.
Help The Grower and its sister publication, The Packer, acknowledge that special person for his or her contributions with a Potato Industry Award.
The Potato Man of the Year award recognizes someone who has gone above and beyond the call of duty during 2011. Past recipients include Albert Wada, Allen Olberding and Chuck Gunnerson.
The Potato Man for All Seasons award spotlights someone who has spent a lifetime contributing to the industry. Past honorees include Allen Floyd, Lynn Olsen and Roger Knutsen.
The award, made in conjunction with the National Potato Council, will be presented at the NPC’s award banquet, Jan. 7, 2012, in Orlando.
