Paul Wenger, a Central Valley walnut and almond grower, was reelected to his third term as president of the California Farm Bureau at its recent annual meeting in Monterey.

“I can’t think of anything more humbling than to work for people that I respect like I respect all of you,” Wenger said in a news release. “We’ll make sure to double down and over the next two years do as much as we can to support, protect and promote this great industry and all of you.”

Wenger, who has been a farm bureau officer since 17, is the group's 15th president.

Kenny Watkins, who produces beef cattle, walnuts and hay near Linden, was also reelected first vice president, an office he has held since 2009.

Jamie Johansson, an olive grower who also operates an olive oil company near Oroville, was reelected second vice president.

The Sacramento-based farm bureau represents nearly 78,000 farmers and ranchers nationwide.
