The Environmental Protection Agency has approved a label expansion for Voliam Xpress insecticide from Syngenta Crop Protection of Greensboro, N.C.

Added were potatoes, pome fruit, stone fruit and tree nuts, according to a news release. Some state registrations are pending.

It previously was registered for use on head and leaf lettuce, fruiting vegetables, head and stem Brassicas, and cucurbits.

Voliam Xpress contains two modes of action—chlorantraniliprole from the diamide family of insecticides and lambda-cyhalothrin, a pyrethroid.

The two products combined target pests from the lepidoptera order (butterflies and moths) and chewing and sucking pests, such as beetles, plant bugs, stink bugs and leafhoppers.
