The Environmental Protection Agency has approved an insecticidal seed treatment for leafy vegetables as part of the FarMore Technology platform from Greensboro, N.C.-based Syngenta Seed Care.

The insecticide, thiamethoxam, is also available for use on cucurbits. It targets early-season insects, such as aphids, flea beetles, whiteflies and leafminers in head, romaine and leafy lettuce.

The FarMore platform also offers broad-spectrum, systemic disease control against Fusarium, Pythium and Rhizoctonia.
