Consumption of canned fruits continues to remain stable at about 6 percent of all fruit consumed since 1970.


But consumption of canned vegetables is much more unstable and continues to fluctuate. But the long-term outlook is for a continued decline from a 24-percent share in 2008.


Those are few of the data presented to Congress by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Economic Research Service recently.
