If you're a small-scale producer in the Pacific Northwest, the Food and Drug Administration is interested in hearing your thoughts on fresh produce safety.

The federal agency, along with the Washington State Department of Agriculture and the Oregon Department of Agriculture, is holding a listening session from 8:30 a.m.-noon, May 5, at the Portland Airport Sheraton Inn.

The FDA currently is developing fresh produce safety standards for farms and packinghouses.

For more information, contact Sherry Kudna, ODA, at (503) 986-4619 or by e-mail skudna@oda.state.or.us.

The listening agenda is available by clicking here.
