The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services in Tallahassee recently expanded the labels for Platinum and Actara insecticides from Syngenta Crop Protection of Greensboro, N.C.

The new label allows higher application rates and use on additional vegetables, including leafy vegetables and Brassicas.

Both Platinum and Actara contain the same active ingredient, thiamethoxam, which controls many sucking and chewing pests.

Platinum is a broad-spectrum, soil-applied insecticide with a systemic mode of action. It is quickly absorbed by roots and rapidly transported throughout the plant.

Actara is a broad-spectrum, foliar-applied insecticide that's fast-acting, long-lasting and easy on beneficials. It is rainfast as soon as the spray dries.
