California state and county agricultural workers have begun an eradication campaign against the invasive Oriental fruit fly in Milpitas and Fremont.

Those towns are located on the east side of San Franicsco Bay and south of Oakland.

This is the third time in four years that Santa Clara County has had to conduct an eradication program against the fly, which can damage up to 230 different fruits and vegetables.
