Greensboro, N.C.-based Syngenta and Maitland-based Florida Fruit and Vegetable Association have teamed to offer a $2,000 scholarsihp to Florida high school seniors and college students who will study agriculture.

According to a news release, eligible applicants must meet the following:

• Any high school senior participating in Florida 4-H or FFA programs who will attend the University of Florida College of Agriculture or Florida A&M University Division of Agricultural Sciences in the fall,
• Any student (graduate/undergraduate) enrolled in the College of Agriculture at the University of Florida or
• Any student (graduate/undergraduate) enrolled in the Division of Agricultural Sciences at Florida A&M University.

Applications must include: name, address, phone number, e-mail, school/college in the fall, major/intended major and a description of scholastic accomplishments, experience, career goals, extracurricular activities and financial need. The description should be no more than 250 words.

The scholarship will be awarded at FFVA's 66th annual convention in Palm Beach Sept. 29.

Deadline to apply is Aug. 28.
