The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Economic Research Service has released a report that tracks just about every type of data from the 1960s through today that a watermelon marketer or grower could want.

Among the reports are U.S. and state acreage, yield, production, prices and value; per-capita consumption; U.S. trade; world production and trade; grades; varieties; truck freight charges; irrigation and characteristics of watermelon farms.
