The U.S. Department of Agriculture has cited Triple R Distributing LLC, Nogales, Ariz., for failing to pay for more than $330,000 of produce, according to a USDA news release.

The Packer reported in May 2012 that Triple R had been sanctioned by the USDA for more than $90,000 owed to an Arizona seller. USDA then filed an adminstrative action against the company for $334,261 in October, and now the company’s failure to pay this amount to four sellers for 33 lots of produce has resulted in its being barred from the produce industry for two years.

Triple R Distributing will not be eligible to reapply for a Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act license until June 28, 2016, and the company’s principal, Daniel Romero, may not be employed by or affiliated with any PACA licensee until June 28, 2015, and then only with the posting of a USDA-approved surety bond.
