The U.S. Department of Agriculture has sanctioned two produce companies for not paying Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act reparation awards, according to a USDA news release.
The following companies and individuals are currently barred from operating in the produce industry:
- Golden State Food Packaging Inc., Ventura, Calif., for failing to pay a $41,003 award in favor of a California seller. Olvin Servellon was listed as an officer, director, and major stockholder of the business. Another principal of the business at the time of the reparation order was Humberto Nateras. Nateras has challenged his responsibly connected status.
- Terra Produce LLC, Los Angeles, for failing to pay an $18,901 award in favor of a Washington seller. Daniel Garcia was listed as the sole member and major stockholder of the business.
